Thoughts from Penny

Hi all,
It has been great to join Amy Lamb, AOTPAC Chair ,and Tim Nanof, AOTA staff, at the Republican Convention. I was sorry I could not attend the Democratic convention, but I needed to be present at UAB for the beginning of our fall semester. It was thrilling for me to meet Sharon Sanderson, one of our AOTA members and Secretary of the Affiliated State Association Presidents, who is serving the role as an alternate delegate to the Republican Convention from the state of Oklahoma. Regardless of party, it is important that our occupational therapy practitioners become polictically active in whatever way one can in order to have a voice in shaping our country's healthcare policy. We are representing our members well on both sides of the aisle in our effort to spread our message about the importance of occupational therapy services.
