Building Democracy, One Girl at a Time

I personally have done this since my daughter was born in 2001 and continued the tradition with both my children when my son joined our family in 2003. Every election day I take my children with me to the polls, they come into the voting box with me (one on each side now). We talk about the right to vote and our ability as individuals to make a difference. Here is a web site www.thewhitehouseproject.org/daughters ... the web site focuses on girls but as occupational therapy members we pride ourselves on being adaptable so bring the boys along too! Sign the pledge and bring your children with you to the polls on election day and get them started on the right foot! -- Amy
